Vacancy: 1x Auto Electrician

The company would like to recruit an Auto Electrician to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.

DESCRIPTION 

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of auto-electrical equipment within the auto-electrical discipline according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent

  • Qualified Auto-electrician Trade Certificate through a recognized institution

  • TMM Mining equipment experience.

  • Sound knowledge and experience in the maintenance and repairs of PDS, PDI, camera's, lighting circuits of diesel machines & real-time systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially with regards to auto-electrical problems in open cast TMM mining and ancillary equipment.

  • At least 2 years proven experience in an engineering workshop, preferably in the mining environment.

  • Must be familiar with the MHSA Act.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in ensuring that all TMM auto electrical equipment and installations meet the required designs, installation, and maintenance standards.

  • Ensure that all assessments of potential hazards of the operation of equipment and installations are undertaken in accordance with procedures.

  • Maintenance and repairs of all TMM auto-electrical equipment in the open cast mine, specifically with regards to the following: Generators, ADT, excavators, grader and Dozer Ext.

  • Ensure fixed mobile, and transportable TMM auto electrical equipment associated with hot work or live testing, installed, or operated are suitably certified in line with operational standards.

  • Ensure that equipment is safe and suitable for use in the opencast mine.

  • Ensure that the maintenance and overhaul of TMM auto electrical equipment installed and/or operated or intended to be installed and/or operated in accordance with relevant standards.

  • Align with planned maintenance, including the maintenance of relevant records for all auto electrical equipment and installations in responsibility.

  • Adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Ensure effective communication to relevant stakeholders to minimize production delays.

  • Upholding of safety, health, and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM.
