The company would like to recruit an Auto Electrician Electrician to be based at Gugulethu Colliery within Msukaligwa municipality.

DESCRIPTION 

To be responsible the installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repairing of all auto-electrical equipment within the auto-electrical discipline according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent

• Qualified Auto-electrician Trade Certificate through a recognised institution

• TMM Mining equipment experience

• Sound knowledge and experience in the maintenance and repairs of proximity detection systems, TMM Camera's, two-way radios, lighting reticulations in TMM and fixed plant, & real-time systems

• Sound knowledge of troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of air conditioning systems in TMM and office buildings

• At least 2 years proven experience in an engineering workshop, preferably in the mining environment

• Must be familiar with the MHSA Act

OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

• Willing to work shifts, nightshifts, weekends and public holidays

• Successfully complete medical evaluation

• Absolutely NO previous criminal record

• Solid understanding and adherence to safety and environmental standards

• Ability to work independently, under pressure and multitask

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in ensuring that all TMM auto electrical equipment and installations meet the required designs, installation, and maintenance standards.

• Ensure that all assessments of potential hazards of the operation of equipment and installations are undertaken in accordance with procedures.

• Installation, Maintenance and repairs of all TMM auto-electrical equipment in the open cast mine, specifically with regards to the following: ADTs, Excavators, Graders, TLBs and Dozers.

• Installation, Maintenance and repairs of all auto-electrical equipment of fixed and mobile plant; namely mobile jaw crusher, generators, diesel water pumps, lighting plants in an open cast

• Ensure that equipment is safe and suitable for use in the opencast mine.

• Ensure that the maintenance and overhaul of TMM auto electrical equipment installed and/or operated or intended to be installed and/or operated in accordance with relevant standards.

• Align with planned maintenance, including the maintenance of relevant records for all auto electrical equipment and installations in responsibility.

• Adherence to policies and procedures.

• Ensure effective communication to relevant stakeholders to minimize production delays.

• Upholding of safety, health, and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM
