The company would like to recruit a General Foreman to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.
Skills & Qualifications
Grade 12
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Trade qualification in a relevant field such as Boiler making, Electrical, Plumbing, Fitting, or similar
Experience
5 years ’experience in the same or similar role
Prior position on a mine is essential
5 years of experience as a General Foreman or in a related supervisory role
Other Skills/Competencies
Successfully complete medical evaluation
Absolutely NO previous criminal record
Solid understanding and adherence to safety and environmental standards
Ability to work independently, under pressure and multitask
Health, safety and environmental awareness skills are critical
Duties & Responsibilities
Installing and maintaining various safety and traffic management signs on site to ensure compliance with regulations
Performing general basic repairs and maintenance tasks across the site
Cleaning of admin offices and ablution facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment
Cleaning and maintaining water management systems on site, including drainage and water conservation measures
Managing and caring for the growth of plants and grass on site, with an understanding of horticulture or environmental management
Managing indandiones plant growth on site as part of environmental control
Reporting risk areas that need attention, including safety, environmental, and operational risks
Managing and cleaning the laundry of employees on site, ensuring proper hygiene and cleanliness standards
Maintaining general housekeeping in areas of responsibility, ensuring a tidy and organized work environment
Communicating effectively with all parties involved in the execution of this function.
Executing any lawful and reasonable instructions from the Chief Safety Officer or Mine Manager and Mine engineer with strict adherence to mine regulations and procedures
Reporting any unlawful and/or illegal incidents to the appropriate chain of command immediately
Responsible for risk management in the area of operation, identifying, mitigating, and reporting potential hazards
Any other reasonable tasks as required by management.
