Vacancy: Outbye Foreman X1

The company would like to recruit an Outbye Foreman to be based at Gugulethu Colliery within the Msukaligwa municipality. 

 DESCRIPTION 

To be responsible for the mine’s pit water pumps in terms of installation, maintenance, fault finding, and repair as well as general work within the surface infrastructure (out-bye) of the mine, according to good practice and equipment specifications. 

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE   

  • Grade 12  

  • Certificate in pump inspections and maintenance   

  • Must have N2 electrical/ instrumentation  

  • Sound knowledge and experience in mining general maintenance and repairs   

  • At least five (5) years proven technical experience as working with pumps as well as general maintenance duties 

  • Must be familiar with the MHSA Act 

  • Must have a valid driver’s licence 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Assist in ensuring that all equipment and installations meet the required designs, installation, and maintenance standards

  • Ensure that all assessments of potential hazards of the operation of maintenance infrastructure, equipment, installations, and repairs are undertaken in accordance with procedures and repairs of all, specifically with regards to the following: water pit pumps plumbing, boreholes, sewerage plant, solar systems, CCTV installations, lighting systems in line with operational standards

  • Ensure that equipment is safe and suitable for use in the opencast mine.

  • Align with planned maintenance, including the maintenance of relevant records for all equipment and installations in responsibility

  • Adherence to policies and procedures

  • Ensure effective communication to relevant stakeholders to minimize production delays

  • Upholding of safety, health, and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM
