The Company would like to recruit a Buyer for Canyon Coal, based at Head-Office in Sandton. 

DESCRIPTION 

The Buyer will be responsible for managing and purchasing of commodities, services and address procurement queries.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY 

• Execute the buying strategy, through the planning, selection and procurement of commodities

• The role further ensures sales growth and increase in gross margins by considering market trends and customer demand in terms of price, quality and availability when making purchasing decisions

• The Buyer works collaboratively with suppliers and store operations teams to execute the buying strategy, ensuring a consistent customer experience and aligned execution of pricing 

• Ensure first place in the market by maintaining price competitiveness

• Comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing a product’s cost and selling prices 

OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: 

• Control, develop and monitor suppliers

• Ensure continuity and monitor suppliers

• Ensure commercial and legal compliance

• Take into account price, quality and delivery 

• Address technical queries during procurement and quotation process 

• Ensure Quality Assurance of materials, parts or products are adhered to during procurement processes

• Evaluation and selection of suppliers

• BBBEE and Enterprise Development
