Vacancy: Canyon Coal- Human Resources Manager

The Company would like to recruit a Human Resources Manager to be based at Head Office, in Sandton. 

DESCRIPTION: 

The purpose of this role is to provide a professional Human Resources Service to the organization, with knowledge not limited to Human Resources Strategy design and implementation, Organisational Design, Organisational Development, Talent Management and Acquisition and Employee Relations. The Human Resources Manager will be required to conduct duties in a courteous, safe and efficient manner ensuring that the highest level of service and ethics are maintained. 

OTHER SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Knowledge and understanding of all relevant labour legislation; Human Resources practices, Policies and Procedures 

  • Report writing and management of HR information 

  • Good communication and Organisational Skills 

  • Should have excellent communication skills and must be fluent in English 

  • Solid administration and computer literacy skills, particularly in MS Office 

  • Possess a high level of ethics and confidentiality 

  • Should be flexible and able to work in a multi-tasking role 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy 

  • Employment Equity Management 

  • Handle all Industrial Relations issues, e.g. hearings, CCMA, Labour Court, wage negotiations, etc 

  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues (in a unionized environment) 

  • Managing the recruitment and selection process 

  • Nurture a positive working environment, employee motivation and satisfaction

  • Manage employee participation and communication

  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance 

  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs/reporting (WSP/ATR)

  • Reporting: report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics 

  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management

  • Policies & Procedures review and updates 

  • Administrative responsibilities
