The Company would like to recruit a Diesel Mechanic (Fixed-Term Contract) to be based at Phalanndwa Colliery in Delmas.

DESCRIPTION:

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance on mobile machines, mobile cranes, trucks, and LDV’s to name a few.

 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Do fault finding, repairs and maintenance on mobile machines, mobile cranes, trucks and LDV’s 

• Service vehicles, machinery at regular intervals according to a specific standard

• Perform standby duties and attend to breakdown maintenance on sites

• Test drive vehicles in order to do a technical evaluation

• Prepare vehicles for roadworthy tests

• Complete job cards and check sheets per vehicle as required

• Comply with OHS Act as well as Company safety and environmental policies during execution of duties

OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

• Fault finding and repairing Volvo ADT’s, Volvo Excavators, Bell ADT’s, Komatsu Dozers. 

• Basic Auto Electrical 

• Own Tools 

• Own Transport 

• Willing to work overtime
