“Canyon Coal provided me with great academic guidance and support. My parents were not able to pay for my studies, however through the bursary I was able to complete my studies without worrying. The bursary covered tuition fees, accommodation, books and meal stipends. I was also provided with the opportunity to be part of Canyon Coal, while doing my practical training. I would like to make special mention of Sarie Opperman from HR, who gave me academic advice and always motivated me to study hard. I additionally received good mentorship from Goodman Mazibuko, Vannesa Thani, Saban Akdag, among others during my internship at Canyon coal. I was also afforded an opportunity to be a permanent employee at Canyon’s Hakhano mine. I am currently a mine manager (at another company) and working my way up. I believe that through hard work and consistency, I will attain my goal of becoming a Chief Executive Officer in the mining industry. In conclusion, I would like to thank Canyon Coal for giving me an opportunity that have opened doors for me. They changed my life, God Bless them!”
