“Prior to receiving the bursary from Canyon Coal, I was in a very desperate situation as I didn’t have the money to complete my studies. The bursary covered my tuition fees, accommodation, meals and study material allowances and a 1-year graduation programme.

The bursary really made huge impact as I was struggling to cope with all the social, academic and financial stresses. I was able to then plan for my future. I also was given the opportunity to do my graduate programme at Canyon’s collieries as a surveyor. My next aim is to attain Government Competency Certificate and then work towards completing an MBA in order to gain more knowledge, experience and wisdom. I just want to thank Canyon for all it has done for me. My wish is for Canyon to keep growing and to help many more students.”
