The company would like to recruit an Auto Electrician to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.

DESCRIPTION 

To be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of auto-electrical equipment within the auto-electrical discipline according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications.

SKILLA, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12

  • Qualified Auto-electrician Trade Certificate through a recognised institution

  • Valid driver’s license

  • TMM mining equipment experience

  • At least 2 years proven experience in an engineering workshop, preferably in the mining environment

  • Sound knowledge and experience in the maintenance and repairs of Fuel Automation Systems; PDS, PDI, camera's, lighting circuits of diesel machines & real-time systems

OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • TMM Air- conditioning

  • Must be physically fit

  • Must be familiar with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)

  • No criminal records

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially with regard to auto-electrical problems in open cast TMM mining and ancillary equipment

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in ensuring that all TMM auto electrical equipment and installations meet the required designs, installation, and maintenance standards

  • Ensure that all assessments of potential hazards of the operation of equipment and installations are undertaken in accordance with procedures

  • Maintenance and repairs of all TMM auto-electrical equipment in the open cast mine, specifically with regards to the following: generators, ADTs, excavators, graders, dozers etc

  • Ensure fixed mobile, and transportable TMM auto electrical equipment associated with hot work or live testing, installed, or operated are suitably certified in line with operational standards.

  • Ensure that equipment is safe and suitable for use in the opencast mine

  • Ensure that the maintenance and overhaul of TMM auto electrical equipment installed and/or operated or intended to be installed and/or operated is in accordance with relevant standards

  • Align with planned maintenance, including the maintenance of relevant records for all auto electrical equipment and installations in responsibility

  • Adherence to policies and procedures

  • Ensure effective communication with relevant stakeholders to minimise production delays

  • Upholding of safety, health, and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM

  • Maintenance of the Khanye Colliery/Siding back-up generators; lighting plants and pit pumps auto electrical systems
