Vacancy: Blasting Assistant
The Company would like to recruit a Blasting Assistant to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12
Valid blasting assistant certificate
Driver’s license code 10
Be able to acquire a medical certificate of fitness
Knowledge of opencast mining
EXPERIENCE:
Previous relevant experience
Experience in a mining environment is an added advantage.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with appointments including regulations and the Mine Health and Safety Act.
Complete checklist.
Assist blaster with marking of holes to be drilled.
Measuring of shot holes.
Offload explosives with the blaster.
Priming blast holes.
Monitoring of the blasting bench.
Act as a guard during blasting.
Good housekeeping.
Participate in the mine safety program.
Stemming of shot holes.
Connecting of blasting rounds.
