The company would like to recruit a Boilermaker Assistant to be based at Gugulethu Colliery within the Msukaligwa Municipality.  

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12

  • N2 Boilermaker (Minimum)

  • Code 8 driver’s licence

EXPERIENCE

  • Must have previous experience on TMM’s.

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a boilermaker assistant.

  • Experience in mining industry will be an advantage

OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Must be willing to work overtime.

  • Physically fit.

  • Must be comfortable with grinding, welding and gas cutting equipment

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Study job cards and determine maintenance/work to be done 

  • Assist boilermaker to construct, assemble, maintain and repair equipment or structures by providing specialised boiler-making skills (including plating and welding) 

  • Assist boilermaker to attend to defects raised on pre-start reports, breakdown sheets and inspection reports. 

  • Assist boilermaker in carrying out scheduled and non-scheduled repairs and maintenance 

  • Assist with the lifting of heavy equipment. 

  • Assist in maintaining good housekeeping. 

  • Comply with safety, health and environmental integrity principles applicable to area of responsibility
