Vacancy: Engineering Foreman Outbye
The company would like to recruit an Engineering Foreman Outbye to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.
DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for supervising a team of technicians, mechanics, electricians, millwrights and assistants ensuring that work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner. Your strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities will contribute to the success of the shop and satisfaction of our customers.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience as a highly competent technician or mechanic
Millwright Trade Qualification or similar qualification
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and repair procedures
Previous experience in a Supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a mining environment
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must be Computer Literate, specifically on Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint
EXPERIENCE
The candidate must have experience in manufacture/installations and should have at least five years’ experience working as a competent technician/artisan and be able to manage the budget in their area of responsibility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety; Health; Environment and Quality (SHEQ) management at the workshop, site and outbye areas
Drafting and review of Code of Practices; Standard Operating and Safe Work Procedures within the area of responsibility
Manage and Track Planned Task Observations and Training Matrix
Daily maintenance of workshop and office
Staff motivation and management
Ordering of workshop consumables and job equipment
Making sure all equipment is in good working order and keeping all certificates up to date
Maintain pit pumps; generators; lighting plants with scheduled services
Maintain the mine electrical reticulation system (High Voltage-Medium Voltage- Low Voltage).
Maintenance of the Bronkhorstpruit siding infrastructure
Ensure the Reliable Centred Maintenance Strategy (RCM) is applied to all Outbye mining equipment
Predictive Maintenance through application of Condition Monitoring techniques of equipment within the area of responsibility which include Oil Analysis; Thermography; Non-Destructive Tests; Vibration Analysis
Build and maintain professional relationship with suppliers
Draft Scope of Work within the area of responsibility
Mentor Interns and learners through their training programmes
Building of pump sets. (Training others to do this. Would prefer to have a candidate who can do the job hands on, but rather supervises others to achieve)
Liaise with Salesmen regarding pump builds. This is an important function
Keeping a build register for QCP documents (New builds, Repairs)
Placing orders from suppliers
Assist branches with drawings and quotations on baseplates
Quality control
Site commissioning and repair work
