Vacancy: Pit Foreman
The Company would like to recruit a Pit Foreman to be based at Gugulethu Colliery located within the Msukaligwa Municipality.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12
English proficiency
Valid driver’s license
Knowledge of relevant legislation
Knowledge of Opencast Mining management and practices
Competent A
Dewatering practices and management of pumping team experience
Opencast Blasting Certificate (Advantage)
Engineering qualifications (advantage)
OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Physically fit and able to pass a medical/fitness test.
Must have a clear criminal record and be willing to undergo a criminal check
Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate without supervision and be able to work under pressure.
Be a self–starter and able to work according to targets/deadlines.
Integrity, reliability, and ethics.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 4 years relevant supervisory experience
Experience in a coal mining environment is an added advantage.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize and monitor the production process.
Ensure optimal plant utilization & availability.
Ensure compliance with Safety and Quality policies, procedures, and standards.
Shift line-up and hand-over
Management of pit dewatering strategies
Technical supervision
