Vacancy: Pit Foreman
The company would like to recruit a Pit Foreman to be based at the Gugulethu Colliery the within the Msukaligwa Municipality.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12
English proficiency
Valid driver’s license
Knowledge of relevant legislation
Knowledge of opencast mining management and practices
Competent A
Dewatering practices and management of pumping team experience
Opencast Blasting Certificate (advantage)
Engineering qualifications (advantage)
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 4 years relevant supervisory experience
Experience in a coal mining environment is an added advantage
OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Physically fit and able to pass a medical/fitness test
Must have a clear criminal record and willing to undergo criminal check
Sound communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to operate without supervision and be able to work under pressure
Be a self–starter and able to work according to targets / deadlines
Integrity, reliable and ethical
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, organise and monitor the production process.
Ensure optimal plant utilisation & availability.
Ensure compliance to safety and quality policies, procedures, and standards.
Shift line-up and hand-over
Management of pit dewatering strategies
Technical supervision
