“I believe Canyon Coal was a God-sent because I was given an opportunity to focus only on completing my studies and not worry about my family’s financial state. Initially, I thought I would end my studies at undergrad level and then get a job to assist my family. However, knowing that Canyon Coal had my back financially, I had the strength and courage to continue to postgrad level. The bursary covered full tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, meals, and monthly allowance for 2 years (2016 – 2017). Canyon Coal provided emotional and administrative support, in addition, I was given an opportunity to do vacation work for two months at Hakhano Colliery – this was one of the best moments I had at Canyon Coal.”
