The company would like to recruit a Millwright to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12
Millwright trade test certificate of competency
Valid driver’s license
OTHER SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Interpersonal skills
Good verbal communication skills
Planning and organising skills
Basic understanding of the process flow of coal washing plant
Be able to read and write
Ability to work under pressure
English proficiency
Basic computer skills
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a millwright in a mining environment
PLC experience
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend safety meeting daily
Ensure all tasks are planned and properly executed on time and that job cards are completed correctly within the given time frame
Inspect and examine machinery to deduct irregularities and malfunctions.
Repair, service and recondition equipment per trade code and industry design specification requirements
Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, modifications, or setup of machinery
Assist and guide personnel in the identification and reporting of risks in the workplace prior to conducting any work to prevent injury or loss
Ensure that all tools (including chemicals and hazardous substances) are tracked, maintained, stored, and use in a safe working order as required by the MHSA, relevant national standards, and best practices
Performed planned maintenance requirements (tools and spares), logistics and execution management
Follow standard operating procedure, rules, and instructions from Foreman.
Complete all sheets report, log sheets and time sheets at the end of the shift as requested or instructed
Over-inspect the work done – maintenance, planned stoppages and housekeeping
Report on all work that was done at the end of the shift to the foreman (shift change book) and during shift change to an on-coming shift foreman
Assist the maintenance planning process in accordance with the set-out guideline (proper pre-preparations and shutdown process)
Inspection and maintenance of pit and borehole pumps, pipes, valves and fittings
Inspection and maintenance of pit pumps, backup generators, lighting plants
Inspection and maintenance of the overhead powerline around the mine
Inspection and maintenance of Bronkhorstspruit Siding infrastructure
Inspection and maintenance of all mine buildings and infrastructure
Perform condition monitoring on equipment (lighting plants, pit pumps, generators etc) such as oil analysis, thermal inspections, non-destructive testing and vibration monitoring as per maintenance strategies
